In the world of Teaching, articles about new ways to use technology in the classroom are everywhere. Every teaching blog, newsletter, magazine and seminar covers new uses of technology. Teachers are constantly told that you, students of the 21st century, use technology every day, are tech-saavy, and need to be taught WITH technology because that is how you learn best. We are also told that, in order to prepare you for the modern workforce, we need to teach you HOW to use new technology effectively.Respond to that idea. What do you think about it? Do you think that teachers could be more effective if they used technology tools (think podcasts, web videos, online discussion forums, electronic assignment submission, tech-related project assignments)? Are modern students technologically inclined? What about being a student in Utah? Do you think that being in Utah keeps you a little behind-the-times as far as technology learning is concerned? Would YOU do better if more multi-media was used in your classrooms to teach and present, and for you to demonstrate your learning and communicate?
I think that technology would enhance our learning experience because technology makes everything so much easier. That's what technology is creating things to make life easier so if we make learning easier we will have more time to learn and it will increase our learning. Sometimes a different approach will help students learn something they've been struggling to learn. I think there are so many opportunities to use technology to learn and have fun and make school a more enjoyable place to be. I don't think living in Utah affects us that much I mean it's probably the same material and teachers in other places. I would definitely do better if we had multi media to teach us and help us learn the material. I think it's a great idea and we should use the technology that we have not only for entertainment but for learning too.

Since we're reading Nothing But The Truth, which involves a boy who doesn't get along with a teacher, I want you to consider teacher-student relationships you've had in the past. Have you had teachers that you just got along with whether or not you did well in their class? Have you had teachers whose personality just didn't mesh with yours? Without naming names, expound upon these ideas and thoughtfully consider how personality differences or similarities have affected you in your classes.
Yeah there are definitely teachers that I like more and have a better relationship with usually cause there more friendly and they go beyond just teaching you the material but they get to know you. This is especially true like in grade school because yo have the same teacher all day and your a little kid and they just want to help. I remember my kindergarten teacher was really nice and every time I saw him I gave him a big hug. I don't even remember his name but you know I was so little. In high school it's different but there still are some teachers who I like better and are personality's mesh better. I've never really had a huge problem with a teacher but secretly I've really hated some teachers. I try to appear interested and nice but really inside I could care less about them. That does seem unfair though because I don't really know them as a person so I try to keep an open mind. I think the class subject also helps because I'm more interested in it so me and the teacher have something in common. Usually if I like the teacher and they like me I get a better grade because if I don't do my work I'm not just letting my teacher down but I'm letting a friend down who expects more from me. I usually learn more to because I'm not afraid to ask questions and get more information instead of in a stiff learning atmosphere where I'm afraid I'll say something stupid.
